​Outdoor Chef Cooking Competition

​Main event - Saturday, November 1st



Reserve for Outdoor Chef Competition

Camp cooking is more than just hot dogs and hamburgers.   Show your creativity in Glen Gray's Outdoor Chef Cooking Competition.

​Open to:  organized youth groups.  Min age 12 or sixth grade.   You must camp overnight in order to participate.

 
​Youth Competition
  • ​Teams of 6-8 will compete to cook the best entre for two people.
  • We supply the Basket of Mystery Ingredients for an entire meal serving two.
  • Bring additional ingredients you think you will need. (salt, pepper, spices, butter, eggs, milk, etc.)
  • Bring cooking utensils, pots, pans, Dutch oven, can opener, etc.
  • Must be hot meal
  • Can use Dutch oven, propane camp stove, BBQ grill, foil cooking
  • No indoor cooking
  • Must use 4 of the 6 ingredients in basket
  • Contest to be held in Crowell Field
  • Judges will visit and observe contestants during cooking time.

Judging, points for:
  • 4 of the 6 basket ingredients used, one point per additional basket ingredient
  • Taste
  • Creativity – not the usual burger!
  • Nutrition & Sanitation
  • Presentation

Adult Competition

​Open to teams of adult leaders.   Compete to produce the best....


  • CHILI - start time Saturday AM, judging time – 4PM – bring own ingredients.
  • CAMPFIRE STEW - start time Saturday AM – judging time 4PM – bring own ingredients. 

There is no charge for adult competition.  Cooking can be done at campsite.

Cost:

​$8 per person on each team.   Standard tent, lean-to, or cabin fees apply.  See Campsites and Cabins above.

​
​Registration deadline:
  Saturday, October 11th.
