Activities for Teenage Youth Groups
Whether you are a Scout troop or other youth group, Camp Glen Gray offers a great weekend camping experience.
Suggestions:
- If you are new to camping, try a site near the lake like the Rotary Building, Glen and Gray Cabins, Benedict Lodge, Troop 2 Cabin or Gilwell Lodge and Gaipa lean-to, or the Northbrook and Bobcat Hollow tent sites.
- Those campers who prefer a more "back country" experience, should consider Channel Cabin, Donald Cabin, Tindall Lodge, Price Cabin, Troop 13 Cabin or Troop 12 Lodge. Leantos - Augie Schroeder, McMullen Field, Tentsites - Ramapo, Howard Tober, Stag Run, and Hawk Ridge.
- Take a hike on the Old Guard, Lookouts, or Lost Camps trails. Hike descriptions and guides are available by clicking Hiking the Glen and at the Trading Post. Patches are for sale in the Trading Post. Whether you are a first time hiker or want a shakedown hike for a major trek, the Glen provides an excellent base.
- Take our self-guided orienteering course with different experience levels. Guides and maps for sale in the Trading Post.
- Run a fishing derby around Lake Vreeland. You can catch bass, pickerel, catfish and sunfish!
- Rent a rowboat on Lake Vreeland in May through September.
- We offer several special events throughout the year: Arctic Challenge, New Scout Weekend, and Outdoor Chef. See the Events tab above for details.
